Head of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability, Nestlé Pakistan

Waqar is presently Head of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Nestlé in Pakistan & Afghanistan. He is leading institutional networking and multi-stakeholder engagement for public policy and business advocacy with the government, industry associations, multilateral and NGOs. He is also an official spokesperson for the company in engaging media and leading ESG and Sustainability agenda to deliver UN SDGs by engaging communities and partners in the value chain to deliver Net Zero emissions targets.

He is also a founder Board Member and CEO of Collect and Recycle (CORE) Alliance, the first-ever packaging alliance representing FMCG, the packaging industry, recyclers, NGOs, and Multilateral in Pakistan to promote a circular economy and sustainable packaging agenda.

Waqar is a Columbia University, New York graduate in MPA–Economic Policy Management (2010), and also held the prestigious Chevening Fellowship (2008) in Responsible Business, University of Nottingham, UK. He also held MSc in International Business from the University of Wollongong, Australia, and International Relations, Quaid-e-Azam University, Pakistan, respectively.

Prior to joining Nestlé, he worked with the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), The Network for Consumer Protection, and international Chamber Networks and Business Alliances.

Waqar also serves on the Board of multiple public sector institutions and non-profit organizations.
